Saint and Sinner

The toss was won and for the second week running the skipper had a cunning plan and for the second week running it was ruined by Sajid. He had forgotten to bring the kit bag!!! The game started with stumps borrowed from Academy and Ed and Bowser opened the bowling whilst Saj was dispatched for the gear. Ed was spraying the ball down both sides and was replaced. His excuse was the pitchers mound at his end and this had some substance as Jalal also had problems and later Bowser bowled TWO WIDES from that end. Brown P was given his first real bowl of the season and took a couple of wickets (2-11) and that rarest of beasts - a sharp PCC slip catch, but debutant Jalal was the star with a five wicket haul (5-30). Despite not playing Mashook had a "hand" in our victory by finding him!! Speaking of "hauls" Stephen took a pretty sharp one handed catch at short midwicket.

Ed and Saj opened the batting. Ed's bad day continued after a good start when Saj top edged one which was dropped at square leg with Saj watching the ball and Ed properly running. Ed sacrificed his wicket and fortunately Sajid decided to shoulder responsibility and began dispatching the ball to all parts with some enormous sixes. His brutal undefeated 81 just about made up for his earlier errors.

Kintore were short of bowlers and our win was rather easy. It is sad that this result did them no favours in the relegation battle with Queens Cross. It would be a shame if they lost out as, win or lose, they are one one more pleasant teams to play against.
