Toss was won by Stoneywood Dyce, who chose to field.
Portcullis : 121 all out (30).
Stoneywood Dyce : 76 all out (13).
Portcullis v Stonetwood Dyce
Overcast and very windy.
Portcullis lost the toss and was put into bat. Our openers Falconer and Sahoo dug in on their tight bowling. Sahoo was finally bowled in the eighth over. Maidment came in and hit a single then a four before being caught and bowled.Vijayakrishin was next in when Falconer was caught. Dobey was next in and was caught for four. Bari and Vijayakrishin then had a partnership of over 50 before Vijay was run out for 25. Cox then had a partnership with Bari before Bari was caught for 43. The tailenders did not get much runs, with Cox getting 21 before being bowled. Playing his first competitive game for Portcullis Hall was not out for 3.
Portcullis was all out using up their allotted overs.
Stoneywood Dyce needing 122 for victory got off to a disaster of a start. After six overs they had six wickets down. Maidment and Bari claiming three each. After fourteen overs Dobey came on but puled a muscle and only bowled one over. Maidment carried on with support bowler Cox. Maidment ended up with six wickets, Bari three and Cox getting one.
Last weeks reverse was forgotten about, and the effort put in by the eleven Portcullis players today was fantastic. Everyone played their part be it umpiring, batting, bowling or scoring the book.
The score line looks deceiving, it was a hard fought victory.
Well done to all.
