Johnston Cup Final

Portcullis won the toss and decided to bat.

Opening partnership of 15 before the first wicket fell. N. King then took his second wicket with Rahul and Chetan adding 30 runs. 2 cheap wickets fell before Coxy captain for the day came in and stayed until the end being bowled for a marvelous 30. There was some resistance from the the tailenders before we were all out for 131

Stonehaven innings started well with the opening pair making 50, Chetan taking the first of his two wickets. Then two quick wickets fell for only 1 run, this seemed to spur Portcullis on. Rahul had excellent figures of 2 for 13 off 10 overs with Sony taking 2 wickets as well.Stonehaven was making heavy weather of the trying to reach their target but with only 8 balls remaining they achieved their target.

This was our 3 meeting of the season each one has been close, all being won by Stonehaven. This was a superb effort by Portcullis to finally get a trophy in our our cabinet but it was not to be.
