Saturday saw Portcullis take on newly merged Kemnay Kintore 1sts in what could be described as a league title eliminator. Win and and chances of Grade Three tile glory would go down to the wire. Lose, well this means dreams of Grade Two participation would have to be shelved for another season at least.

During the close season both Kemnay and Kintore merged into the one club whilst supplying two teams to the grades. The merging of the pair had many wise onlookers making the newly formed clubs 1sts as favourites to win grade three and take up the one promotion place to Grade Two. Like Portcullis, they have had a strong start to the season and, like Portcullis, have lagged behind league leaders Knightriders 2nds in the build up to today's match.
